NAGOYA - Pakistan secured a historic first-ever silver medal in men’s cricket at the Asian Games after going down to arch-rivals India by 19 runs in the final at Korogi Athletic Park on Saturday.

Batting first, India posted a formidable 211-6 in 20 overs, led by an explosive 61 off 28 balls from Abhishek Sharma. He smashed three fours and seven sixes, while Tilak Varma added an unbeaten 51 off just 22 deliveries, featuring three fours and four sixes. Pakistan made a promising start in pursuit, with Sahibzada Farhan and Maaz Sadaqat putting together 33 runs for the opening wicket. However, India’s bowlers kept the pressure on and restricted Pakistan to 192-6.
